Honestly, I'm not sure how the calorie cutting could be hurting that much, because from what I've read, you need to create a 500 calorie deficit everyday in order to lose one pound by the end of the week, and the recommendation for women looking to lose weight is a 1000 to 1200 calorie diet.
I understand how calorie cutting without exercising can lead to bad results, or no results, but I'm not sure how calorie cutting with exercise could be anything *but* helpful. I mean, that's the equation. You burn more than you take in, you lose weight.
