Well, I didn't just pick that number because it was what was recommended for all women. That number is what I've found the most consensus on for women who are of my weight and BMI and have as many pounds to lose as I have.
I suspect that I might actually be getting too many calories even now, because it seems to me that I have a wickedly slow metabolism and perhaps I'm one of those people who only needs to eat 1000 or less calories a day to keep up what I'm doing.
I also suspect that I might be doing the wrong types of exercise or doing them in the wrong way, so that they're less effective and I think I'm burning more calories than I actually am.
Though I will take it under advisement to seek out a nutritionist and see what they say about it. I'm sure there's someone on ask_a_nurse or some other medical comms that can help. Because that is very solid advice to give, and it would be nice to get an expert opinion.
