1. Four days straight of being overcast. After two years in the sunshine state, where rain is an hourly affair usually, this is getting old.
Although, they've got Hurricane Ernesto on their tails, so I don't envy Florida too much right now. But I think come winter, I will.
Dude, I'm gonna have snow this year. I haven't had snow in three years. There could be snow at Christmas. I could have my first white Christmas ever. No, seriously. Having lived below the Mason-Dixon or on the Pacific Coast for the entirety of my existence, I have never had snow at Christmas. I've had snow on other days, but it always seems to skip Christmas.
It's August and I'm already excited about the prospect.
1b. Yep, I have *definitely* been living in Florida.
2. The job search is sort of depressing with little highlights of hope that are quickly crushed when people ask for "3-5" years experience. I apply anyway, 'cause I'm hoping everything else will make up for my complete lack of experience at a real grownup job. It's a tail-chasing kind of thing, except I figure by the time I catch my tail, I won't need it anymore.
3. My anti-drug right now is cleaning the apartment and doing dishes. Insane, but it keeps me from snacking.
4. Jim Henson should be canonized as a saint. Sometimes all you really need on a depressing rainy day in which you are unemployed are a few episodes of the Muppet Show. It's weird, because half of the bits on that show wouldn't get past the censors today, but it's better children's programming than anything that followed, I think.
5. Well, at least I have plenty of time to write.
6. It is so weird hearing people talk about school and realizing that I'm done.
6b. Although, when I look at the UNF comms on LJ and hear people talking, I also have a slightly "bwahahaha, I don't have to deal with parking anymore - SUCKERS!" kind of feeling.
