I am half clean-freak, half slob.
Wednesday, 14 March 2007 17:55I have a confession to make.
I say that I hate cleaning, but I really just hate cleaning when other people tell me to clean. I go in these cycles where I get creative and I just need to keep going, and I just do NOT want to clean anything.
And then I suddenly need to clean. Desperately.
The truth is, that I actually love cleaning, when I want to clean, and I love how it looks afterwards. I love to have a clean desk and clean tables and a clean floor to look at.
Seriously. Flat, empty surfaces make me certifiably happy.
I get this feeling of satisfaction and relief. It's similar to the feeling I get after I take a long, brisk walk around the block (which I do about 5 days out of 7). Must be endorphins or something.
But the downside is that cleanliness makes me feel inspired and creative and energetic. Which causes me to make more of a mess, and the mess sorta depresses me.
Now I even want to clean my internet life. I want new layouts and new icons and everything. We'll see.
