Some oak and some pine and a handful of Norsemen
Sunday, 17 June 2007 17:34Our kitchen sink decided to break in a spectacular way this morning, so now we can't use it until the plumber gets there or else our downstairs neighbor will have water coming through her ceiling.
The only good part of apartment living is that when something breaks, someone else has to fix it.
We took another IKEA trip. This time it wasn't to get anything, though. We were already going to Long Island to the mall there, because I needed to get some new PJ's and maybe a new pair of shorts and the IKEA is already there.
We didn't get anything major. Just some little stuff. Some more boxes. I got a bigger one to hold all my journaling materials, because the box I have was running out of room. We got some dishtowels and coasters, 'cause needed them.
Then we went to see Ocean's 13 - which is a good non-brainer kind of movie. It's not a good movie, but it wasn't a complete waste of the ticket price. None of the actors even looked that interested in what they were doing and Brad Pitt seemed like he was thinking "okay, okay, I'm walking, I'm looking cool, I'm saying my lines - are we done yet? I gotta go make sure Angie isn't getting back with Billy Bob."
Then we got me some new jammies, finally. I've had the same pajamas since my freshman year of college, so it was time for new ones.
Looks like our brilliant cool snap is over and the summer heat is coming in to stay. I keep reminding myself that I have a) survived August here without AC last year and b) survived Florida with a car that had no AC, in the summer.
Still, I'll be glad when we eventually (as in, in a few years) move into a place that has central heating and air.
Is it June already? I can't believe that. Andrew and I were talking about that in the mall. This year has *flown* by. It seems like it was just *Christmas* a few minutes ago.
