Because exams are nearly done:
Tuesday, 6 December 2005 15:35 Things I Won't Miss About College When I Graduate
1. Writing papers
2. Reading 100's of pages worth of stuff I'd never read on my own
3. A complete aversion to reading anything due to mental exhaustion
4. Rearranging my life twice a year
5. A year that starts in August, thus completely warping my sense of long term time
6. Having to cram a semester's worth of stuff into a two hour's worth of essay questions
7. Rising tuition
8. Not being able to complain if I don't get what I pay for
9. Having to tailor my opinions of things to suit someone else's views because my grade is at stake
10. Watching someone else grab the *last* used copy of a book
11. Being gouged for money I don't have by book companies
12. Not being able to sell back a book because someone repaginated the book I have and added a few new pictures and called it a "New Edition", thus making the 100 dollar book I just bought absolutely worthless.
13. Professors who don't realize that if you do 3 hours of work for every hour of class (as per university policy) and have five classes, and then have a part or full time job that somewhere in that equation you either don't sleep or run out of hours in your week
14. Nearly being run over by a skateboarder or golf cart every time I walk on campus
15. Student governments who do nothing are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine
16. The overpricing of everything from water to food to books to coffee to pencils on campus
Things I Think I Probably Will Miss When I Graduate
1. Learning something new every day
2. The sense of accomplishment at making good grades, and the automatic feedback that comes with doing schoolwork
3. Meeting new people all the time
4. Knowing that if someone annoys me, I only have to put up with them for a few months
5. My favorite professors
6. Having a clearly defined goal with a clearly defined time table and a clearly defined plan for achieving it.
