When I was younger, my parents were very afraid I'd turn out to be a lesbian Wicca-type person.

I turned out to be a bisexual para-agnostic.

So, it's nice to be able to defy their expectations without doing what they really wanted me to do.

arpiana was really right to celebrate adulthood. Because adulthood is when you not only can have porn on your computer without being worried that your mom will find it, but you can have porn as your desktop and if your mom finds it, she can like it or lump it.

Adulthood is when you never have to worry about who's going to come into your bedroom and find your stuff (okay, only partly true, but that's only because our government sux0rz right now and the government is welcome to discover the delights of two adult men making sweet, sweet gay love. Because it's a beautiful thing).

Adulthood is when you don't have to haggle over staying up 10 minutes later because you wanna finish your book or see the end of your TV show.

Adulthood is when you can feed your vegetables to the dog if you like and if you don't eat everything on your plate, that's nobody's business but yours.

Adulthood is when getting home a half-hour later doesn't ruin your social life for the next two weeks.

Adulthood is when words like 'shit' and 'fuck' and 'penis' can just roll off your tongue and you don't have to check behind you to make sure you're not going to get a swat on the ass.

Adulthood is when you can chose who gets to tell you what to do instead of being stuck with them.
