This is how much I dislike fish

Knowing that Caesar salad dressing contains anchovy has severely diminished my capacity to enjoy it. I think I'm switching back to Italian or Ranch now.

I wish Andrew had never told me that. I really used to love caesar, too. It was yummy. Now all I can taste is an oily, greasy fishy taste.

Also: how the does anyone eat those horrible little things on pizza*? I mean, what a waste of dough, cheese and sauce. Ick.

*if you do happen to be an anchovy lover, my apologies, but...ick!

That happened to me too! I used to like it, but ever since that fateful day in middle school I've avoided it like the plague.

If it makes you feel better, only fancy (i.e. nice restaurant-quality) dressing contains actual anchovies.

there was a local restaurant when i lived in kalamazoo that had amazing house dressing. it was really delicious and someday i'll replicate it. anyhow, one day i found out they sold jars of it, so i bought a jar, and read the ingredients, and it had anchovy paste :(

i've never found a caesar dressing that didn't have anchovy paste in it except the vegan varieties, which are pretty yummy, but hard to come by in restaurants.

so very sad.

extra sad is that the dressing doesn't *need* anchovy to be tasty and delicious. it's just more proof that the food companies will put animal byproducts in *anything* just to cut down on waste.
