I'm having one of those frustrating kind of days. First, because now it seems like apparently all the medical experts have decided that the 30 minutes a days for 4-5 days a week isn't enough. Now you need an hour of exercise per day to lose weight.
The idea of having to exercise for an hour kind of scares me. It's enough that my back and thighs are still functioning after the 40 minutes I'm already doing!
Ugh.
Not to mention that the Wii said I gained two pounds. The same two pounds I apparently lost yesterday. Where the fuck could I have picked it up from in 24 hours? I deliberately didn't eat all of my dinner, just to make sure it wouldn't happen (because we had pasta, btw, and pasta is pretty evil). Also, probably could have not had rolls with dinner. Because as we all know, yummy white bread rolls = fluffy, warm evil of evilness
Plus, I had a couple of graham crackers after dinner. By my estimate, I had 1.5 servings (which is 2 and a half complete cracker sheets), which comes to 195 calories total (eep! that's, like, 200 calories basically! I should've watched what I was shoving in my piehole!).
*shakes head*
I'm failing kind of hardcore at this weight loss thing. Methinks I need to step up the exercise and cut some more calories out of my diet. Maybe add fifteen more minutes onto my routine, or do another fifteen to twenty minute workout later in the day? Or earlier? Hmm.
I gotta go do dishes before the Boy gets home. And I should actually post some of my gleeposts instead of just writing them down.

Date: 18 Mar 2009 11:22 (UTC)Well, I thought this, too. But after talking with my sister (who has a degree in physical therapy/exercise science and is going for her PhD in the subject this fall), she says that you should weigh yourself everyday, and that's what she personally does. And not to put too fine a point on it, my sister wears a size 4 and runs marathons, so obviously SOMETHING is working for her. :).
I'll have to ask her about the once-a-week thing, see if weighing daily is necessary or just a personal choice.
Also that hour a day thing is supposed to be break-up able. Like in two thirty minute sessions, for example.
Huh. That's kind of a relief. I'll have to keep this in mind. I really wish that the Surgeon General's press release I read had included that little tidbit. I mean, who has a solid hour to exercise in their day? (Besides jobless folks like me, who hope not to be jobless too much longer!). When I was working I barely had thirty minutes to wolf down lunch and get back to my desk.
