Can't stand my professor. He gave us a test *ON EXAM WEEK*. Which is a violation of university policy. *grumbles*. And I had to read the world's most tedious and depressing novel ever. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.
Also? My professor keeps trying to show the "good" side of Stalin. He killed millions of his own people. I don't care how many factories he built or how many Nazis he fended off. He terrorized his own country. *Millions* died or disappeared or were tortured and basically enslaved in labor camps.
Stalin killed more Russians than Hitler killed *people* period in the entire time he had control of Germany.
At some point, I'd like to think we can safely put someone in the "evil" column.
Napoleon is controversial. Stalin? Done deal. Stalin is a Bad Guy^TM and nothing you say is gonna give me warm fuzzies about him.
*sigh*.
This class has been a total waste of notebook paper.
But good news:
- don't have to go back to work for like *ever*.
- new layout at sage_theory
- dad has informed me that I can go to St. Louis while there with him. Considering going. The trip will involve a hospital function that's taking a bus to St. Louis to see a Cardinals game then returning and stopping by The Home of the Throwed Rolls. Cardinals game - feh. Home of the Throwed Rolls - woohoo. Am weighting feh vs. woohoo. Still undecided.
- will be back in Jackson on the 4th. 45 hours and counting! (yes, there are certain minor things I miss in Jackson - Davis-Kidd being one of them!)
- will get to see New York (and le boy) on the 12th of August. 11 days, whee!
- Made A on quiz that got returned. Bodes well for grade average in class that needs as much good news as possible.
- No work tomorrow! ONE WHOLE DAY FREE! It's like an extra Friday in my week or something.
- Mom very possibly in position to recieve job worth 75,000-80,000 per year (this after being unemployed since Feb. of this year). Thursday, everyone CROSS YOUR FINGERS. *Please*.
