I know that they warn you on the packages of sugarfree things that "excess consumption may have a laxative effect", but I don't think that's sufficient enough.

I think they should be saying: "excess consumption won't just give you the runs, it'll give you a Boston Marathon in your bowels that gurgles like boiling swamp water and will have you howling for your mother or a priest and you will DIE ON THE POTTY. Like Elvis."

Also, I realized that one of the things my mother and I bickered about when I was younger was not actually anyone's fault.

My mom used to get on my case a lot because I didn't brush my hair. I did brush my hair. But I have very thick, long hair and when you're in the South (aka Humidityland) you can brush your hair 'til you can make your very own hair!sherpa, and it's gonna look like you let a pair of mating swallows do your hair that morning. You either gotta get some gel or live with it, and being all of eight I hadn't discovered the magic of Frizz-ease. So it wasn't my fault, but it wasn't hers, either.

I realized this when I brushed my hair in the mirror this morning and realized that I'd been brushing it out for like, five minutes, and it still looked like a mess.

i once ate a half pound of gourmet sugar-free chocolate covered caramels.

i thought i was going to die. it wasn't pretty.

my mother gave me all kinds of shit about my hair when i was a kid. being a curlyhead, my hair's got a mind of its own and requires way more attention (and moisturizing) than what "no more tears" could give it, and than my mother was willing to invest in it. i had one god awful haircut when i was younger, which resulted in an afro, and i think she was secretly glad because it meant i could handle my own hair for a change, and with just a plastic pick, and she never touched my head again.

i've always been very bitter about it, mostly because my hair's never grown back since (it just wont grow like everyone else's hair), and because now that i know how to handle curly hair, i realised all the awful things my mother did to my hair were actually wrong for my hair type.

blecch.

i admit. i have issues still :)

ps: i used to use the "got2b" brand of anti-frizz serum...have you tried it? i loved it, but i can't find it anywhere in this shitty state. i just bought nutragena's new anti-frizz/repair serum, and it's fabulous. it's pricier than the other stuff, but i think it'd be even better if i had long hair to put it in. thought it'd recommend it-- it works for mine, but i bet it'd be awesome if i had long hair like yours. heh.
