Brief practical update

I'm feeling infinitely better compared to Saturday (ick that was horrible) - and now my dad and stepmom are here visiting, so I might not be around TOO much. I'll probably be doing touristy things in Manhattan tomorrow (Rockefeller Center Tree and all).

Still, the cellphone is one and the email is there if you need me.

I've learned two things in the past following days:

a) I've gotten more used to NYC than I realized

and

b) Nobody can make you feel as small, incompetent or out-of-control like your parents. Take a deep breath. You're an adult, and you can handle it. They mean well, they just...are your parents and that's their function in life now that they're done "raising" you.

Re: b)--it is soooo true. In fact, nobody can trigger ALL of your crap like parents...well-meaning or otherwise.
