Weekends, really, aren't supposed to be this *blech*.

So, glee.

Five Good Things About Today

1. Wonderful weather
2. Groceries! Salad and apples and edibles for the next week.
3. People at the laudromat were very polite
4. Watching Secretary with the Boy
5. New music! New music!

Three Things I Did Well

1. Did laundry all by myself despite my aversion to it
2. Finished yet another chapter on the novel (while waiting for laundry). Thus, I am 3 away from the win.
3. Did (some) dishes

Two Things I Look Forward To

1. Book Barn tomorrow! WOOHOOO for a chance to find thousands of books on the cheap (any last minute recommendations?)
2. Starting the next chapter in my novel. Downward slope, here I come!

I so agree with you about laundry. So agree with you about Secretary, too.

Maia is a lovely book, all pampered slave girls and political intrigue. Not Adams' usual Watership Down/Plaguedogs fare.

Laundry is a much less onerous task when people around you are polite.

Maia is a lovely book, all pampered slave girls and political intrigue.

I know. I've read it like twice. It took me a while to get used to the word "bastin'" used in place of the f-word, but otherwise it was a rich, wonderful novel that sucked me in. I adore it.

It's such a lovely and descriptive little metaphor though, no?
